The Taco 5K is not your typical 5K. It is a relaxed walking adventure through Oceanside, built around local tacos, community, and a whole lot of fun.

Gather your friends, family, coworkers, or taco-loving teammates and make your way through a scenic route featuring local taco stops. Along the way, you’ll find games, music, photo opportunities, surprise challenges, and plenty of reasons to slow down and enjoy the experience.

There are no timing chips and no pressure to race. Walk at your own pace, eat a taco at every stop, and fiesta your way to the finish.

Starting and finishing at Oceanside Pier Amphitheater, the Taco 5K follows a more-or-less 5K coastal walking loop filled with local flavor.

Oceanside Event Details

Saturday, December 12, 2026. Choose your start wave when booking on Fever; current waves run from 10:45 AM to 1:30 PM. Please arrive 15 minutes before your assigned start. Late arrivals may join the next available wave, depending on capacity.
Start and finish at Oceanside Pier Amphitheater, 301 The Strand North, Oceanside, CA 92054. Restrooms are available at the amphitheater. Please arrive 15 minutes before your start wave. Packet pickup details will be emailed before the event.
Allow approximately 1.5–3.5 hours, depending on your walking pace and time spent at taco stops and activities. This is a relaxed, non-competitive walking loop of roughly 5K—there are no timing chips and no pressure to hurry.
All ages are welcome. Every participant, including children, needs a ticket to receive tacos, event materials, and access to event activities. Friends and family may accompany participants on public sidewalks, but ticket benefits are reserved for ticket holders.
The route primarily follows public sidewalks and is generally accessible for wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers. Some portions may have uneven surfaces or slopes. Limited seating may be available at taco stops, but this is primarily a walking event.
Public lots and street parking are available around downtown Oceanside and the pier. Spaces are not guaranteed, so allow extra time to park and arrive 15 minutes before your assigned start wave.
Each ticket includes one signature taco at each participating restaurant. Vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free options may be available, but cannot be guaranteed. Ask each restaurant about ingredients and accommodations. Additional food and drinks are available for purchase; alcohol is not included.
Dogs are welcome on the outdoor portions of the route. With the exception of service animals, they may not be permitted inside participating restaurants.
The event takes place rain or shine. Wear comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, and bring your phone and sunscreen. Taco-themed outfits are encouraged! If severe weather creates unsafe conditions, participants will be notified by email.
Advance booking on Fever is strongly recommended. Walk-ins are only permitted if space is available. Show your ticket in the Fever app or the QR code in your confirmation email. All sales are final; tickets cannot be refunded or changed. Tickets can be transferred to another person for free through the Fever app.
